After Auschwitz Treblinka was the most infamous German death camp during WWII.
It is estimated that more than 800.000 Jewish men, women and children were killed at this site, 100 kilometres away from Warsaw. A lot of Jews were from the Polish capital, where they had been hurdled together in a huge ghetto, which was liquidated in 1943.
Just as Sobibor the Nazi’s dismantled Treblinka already during the war and tried to hide the evidence of genocide.
